Thank you from all of us! by Elizabeth DiLuzio

Happy weekend, AEA365 community! I’m Elizabeth DiLuzio, penning my first post as lead curator for AEA365. Today, I want to take a moment to give respect and gratitude to Sheila B. Robinson as she transitions out of the role. After nearly nine years and thousands of posts curated, it goes without saying that she has helped to transform the face of AEA and the field of evaluation through her thoughtful leadership.

I first met Sheila two years ago when I cold emailed the generic AEA365 address. I had been in the field for a few years and was interested in getting to know our community better. I’d always loved the idea behind the blog and thought that offering my assistance would be a great way to meet people. I never really expected anyone – especially not the great Sheila Robinson – to respond to my email. Boy, was I surprised when she wrote back and said that she’d love the assistance. I had always admired Sheila for her accomplishments in the field and could not believe my good fortune. You inspired awe in me back then, Sheila, and the feeling has not changed in the least. I have only grown to be further impressed by your thoughtfulness, kindness, and creativity. Getting to know you over the years has been an absolute pleasure and I wish you the very best in your next chapter.

AEA365 readers, I hope you will join me in sending Sheila off in style. Please take a moment to sign this e-card and say thank you, share a funny story, or just let Sheila know what this blog has meant to you over the years. The card will get sealed and sent to her the evening of Sunday, October 17th, so don’t miss your chance to contribute!
