My name is Susan Kistler. I am AEA’s Executive Director and I arrived today in Anaheim to finalize preparations for AEA’s annual conference that begins on Monday.
Hot Tip: There is a food court right in the Hilton Anaheim – and you’d never know it unless you look. Go left from the registration desk for some quick eats. The Baja Fresh fish tacos were quite tasty.
Hot Tip: Darryl, from the bell desk, is a font of information about the hotel and the surrounding area. And he’s cheerful, friendly, and courteous. What a great way to be welcomed to Anaheim.
Lesson Learned: The trip from LAX can be longer than anticipated. Bring a good book. When no gates were available at the airport itself, we were escorted to a remote parking area and bussed to the terminal – a not so great way to be welcomed to Southern California.
Hot Tip: There’s a UPS store right in the hotel – great options for last minute printing, supplies, etc. but quite expensive. Try to bring what you need.
Hot Tip: Visit the pool area on deck 5 even if you aren’t up for a swim. You’ll find great outdoor sofa/lounge seating areas as well as shady umbrella tables.
Hot Tip: We’re going to do a special casual opening of the AEA registration desk on Sunday from 6-7 pm on the second floor at the Hilton Anaheim. If you are already in-house, especially if you have a Monday workshop, stop by to pick up your materials.
Hope you’ll be joining us this week in Anaheim for Evaluation 2011.
