Hello AEA365-ers! We’re coming up on an exciting week – Evaluation 2019 in Minneapolis, MN. I’m Sheila B Robinson, Lead Curator and sometimes Saturday contributor, and I have a favor to ask…
The 1960s television show Mission Impossible always began with the line “Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is…” Well, today, I have a mission for YOU!
Hot Tip: Whether you’re attending Evaluation 2019 in person or virtually, your mission (should you choose to accept it) is this:
1.) Seek out high quality sessions with great presenters and valuable content to share.
2.) Enjoy those sessions. Learn from them.
3.) Then, do one of two things:
- Approach the presenters and Invite them to submit a draft article for AEA365 about their content, or propose an AEA Coffee Break Webinar or eStudy. They (and you!) can learn about all of these on the AEA website, and can submit proposals for a Coffee Break or eStudy here.
- If you would rather not approach presenters yourself, write to me at aea365@eval.org and tell me what sessions you attended and what presenters you want me to invite to submit a blog or propose a webinar or course. I’ll contact them and either tell them who recommended them, or if you prefer, I’ll keep that just between us.
Lesson Learned: Part of the great value our association brings us lies in numerous opportunities for high quality professional learning members are offered throughout the year. Many presenters self-select and offer their material in the form of blogs, webinars, courses and conference presentations. Some however, may be holding back, wondering if they indeed have something worthwhile to offer to a broader array of evaluators than those who showed up in the conference room. Why not help them along and let them know their work would be appreciated in other ways by other evaluators?
Cool Trick: Are YOU a conference presenter who has considered writing a blog or proposing a Coffee Break Webinar or eStudy? There’s no need to wait for someone to invite you. Submit a draft article or course proposal yourself… any time!
