Happy November loyal readers! I’m Sheila B Robinson, aea365’s Lead Curator and sometimes Saturday contributor. A daily blog is a daily job, and I’m here to tell you that it takes a vill um, a team of enthusiastic volunteers along with our SmithBucklin* partners to make it happen. Today, I’m pleased to introduce two new members of the aea365 team: Liz Zadnik, Outreach Coordinator, and Sara Vaca, Creative Advisor.
Liz and Sara each applied to be the new aea365 intern, and while we initially thought of adding just one, they each presented with a strong and unique skill set we couldn’t pass up.
So, without further ado, here are our two newest Rad Resources for aea365:
Liz Zadnik is Capacity Building Specialist with the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NJCASA) and has worked in the violence prevention and reproductive justice movements as a community educator and organizer.
Liz is a proud graduate of Temple University, where she received her bachelor’s in Women’s Studies. She also has her Master’s in community psychology and social change from the Pennsylvania State University, concentrating on community diversity and gender issues.
Professionally, Liz focuses on discovering and celebrating innovative sexual violence prevention approaches and communities working toward the elimination of sexual violence. She is also a self-professed “evaluation nerd” and loves all things data.
Personally, Liz is searching for ways to promote self-care in the lives of activists and trauma workers through yoga and storytelling. She’d love to sit down with a hot cup or tea and hear all about you…
Sara Vaca is an independent consultant (www.EvalQuality.com) expert in evaluation of international development programs. She is a specialist in resilience and livelihoods interventions.
Her background is Business Management and she holds a Master’s in Non-Profit management and another in Evaluation (by different universities in Madrid). She often works with Red Cross and Red Crescents societies as with their International Federation (Geneva).
She is also a professor of M&E in an online Master’s program (www.UOC.edu).
Apart from Madrid (hometown) she has lived in Malawi and Burkina Faso and she is now based in Southern France, though she is looking forward to relocating in Asia with her family.
Her interests are (too) broad but mostly fascinated by how data visualisation can make evolve out mental paradigms and its huge potential synergies with evaluation. Part of her job exploring this can be seen in her blog www.VisualBrains.info. She is very creative and also interested in information management and innovation. Most of her inspiration comes from working together with people and she loves getting involved in all sorts of collaboration (as this one). Rad resource for creativity for her: her daily stroll in the village she lives (Montech, France). Many good ideas click together while walking! Happy to hear your “craziest” ideas! 🙂
Please join me in welcoming Liz and Sara to the team!
