Susan Kistler on Getting Involved With aea365

Hello aea365! My name is Susan Kistler, I am the American Evaluation Association’s Executive Director, and aea365’s regular Saturday contributor. Today, I’m going to write briefly about ways to get a bit more involved with aea365.

Hot Tip – Share Your Favorite aea365 Posts: We regularly receive questions about whether the content on aea365 may be shared. The answer, yes! Please do! If you receive aea365 via email, please feel free to forward your favorite posts on to a friend (or two or three).

Cool Trick – Go Social If you go to the aea365 website, you’ll find social sharing buttons below each post. They look like this:

Click on the appropriate button to ‘like’ the post, share it via twitter, pin it to your Pinterest page, or send it via email from the site.

Hot Tip – Comment on Posts: Contributors love comments! It lets them know that you are reading what they wrote. The best comments thank the author and further the discussion through suggesting other resources or raising questions or concerns. Commenting is easy – just return to the aea365 entry for the particular post (if you are receiving this via email, just click on the post title to return), scroll down, and fill out the very short form where it says “leave a reply” – you’ll need to provide only your name, email, and comment.

Cool Trick – Get a Gravatar: I’ve written about gravatars before, but it is worth adding again here – a gravatar is a little picture that will appear beside your comments (instead of a rather boring square pattern). Getting a gravatar takes fewer than 3 minutes and once you have signed up, it will work across multiple blogs.

Hot Tip – Write for aea365: We love new contributors, and returning friends as well. Writing for aea365 is as easy as checking out the contribution guidelines, and then sending an email to aea365@eval.org with your proposed topic and the date by which you believe you could have it submitted. As long as the topic focuses on content related to evaluation, AEA, or aea365, and you agree to adhere to the contribution guidelines, we’d love to have you.

Peace and joy to you and yours today and throughout the holiday season.
